Meekness Is Not Weakness

Men today are REDEFINING terms.

They are saying that Jesus was the MEEKEST man alive—

—and what they mean by this is that He's some sort of SISSY, some kind of Gandhi, some type of Buddhist whipping boy—"you can hit me, but I'll never fight back."

"I'll NEVER raise my hand."

It's always this soft, LIMP-WRISTED nonsense.

A flamboyantly effeminate, limp-wristed yellow hand.

These individuals frequently misquote verses about "turning the other cheek."

They become PACIFISTS because they think that's what meekness is—

—and that's NOT what meekness is.

Meekness is not weakness.

Meekness is strength under control.

Again, meekness isn't weakness; it's strength UNDER CONTROL.

Meekness is a man who can CRUSH YOU , but he's got enough CONTROL over his spirit and emotions that he won't.

He could, but he WON'T.

The Bible says, "Be ye angry, and sin not" (Eph. 4:26).

Our Lord Jesus experienced anger, and yet He was WITHOUT sin (Heb. 4:15).

He spoke as one with AUTHORITY (Matt. 7:23)—always HUMBLE yet CONFIDENT, PATIENT yet RESOLUTE.

—and that's where the VIRTUE lies.

Never mistake Christ's TOLERANCE for ACCEPTANCE—

—or His PATIENCE for PASSIVITY.

Are You an Ignorant Idiot or an Educated Fool?

The Bible warns that "everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak" (James 1:19), and that "the way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice" (Prov. 12:15).

As Lao Tzu eloquently said, "Those who know do not speak, and those who speak do not know."

So, I ask you: Are you following the way of a WISE MAN—

When presented with new information, do you listen to UNDERSTAND, or do you hear to RESPOND?

Is your first impulse to:

A) Point out the EXCEPTION?

Now, pause and EXAMINE yourself carefully:

Are you IDEALISTIC or REALISTIC?
Is your approach based on LOGIC and REASON or FEELING and EMOTION?
Do you operate on PROBABILITY and ACTUALITY or POSSIBILITY and POTENTIALITY?
Do you embrace the NORM or reach for the OUTLIER?

Consider the time-honored phrase:

Put another way, the exception is the REASON the rule exists.

Again, the exception demonstrates WHY we have a rule.

And rules are IMPORTANT .

Communication is the ultimate SUPERPOWER, and there are TWO LEVELS to it:

The first level is making people UNDERSTAND what you think—

—and the second level is making them THINK what you think.

If you can do one, you're FORMIDABLE.

If you can do both, you're INVINCIBLE.

"Let's say you've got some complex idea that you're trying to convey to somebody else. How do you do that? Well, your brain spends a lot of effort compressing a complex concept into words. There's a lot of information loss that occurs when compressing a complex concept into words. Then, you say those words. Those words are then interpreted and decompressed by the person who is listening. They will, at best, get a very incomplete understanding of what you're trying to convey. It's very difficult to convey a complex concept with precision because you've got compression and decompression, and you may not even have heard all the words correctly. So, communication is difficult, and what we have here is a failure to communicate."

Life Is What You Make It

You can have a guy who is a sodomite because his uncle touched him, and a guy who isn't a sodomite because his uncle touched him.

You can have a guy who is an alcoholic because his father was, and a guy who isn't an alcoholic because his father was.

You can have a guy who HATES God because he suffered a tragic loss, and a guy who LOVES God despite all loss.

So, how can you have the same scenario and two completely different outcomes?

"For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property. To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. Fear & Desire: The Two Forces Driving Every Decision You Make

The heart operates out of fear or desire; everybody's heart does. One pulls you towards something or someone, while the other keeps you from something or someone.

One EMPOWERS you: desire. Another PARALYEZES you: fear.

One inspires you to make GOOD DECISIONS, while the other inspires POOR DECISIONS.

Almost every action you take today will result from either DESIRE or FEAR.

Typically, we operate out of intellect or emotions, and the first reaction to everything in your life, 99% of the time, is EMOTION, not INTELLECT.

So, how do we operate as men in this world? Through INTELLECT and DESIRE.

Fear and emotions will lead a man into trouble EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Fear vs. Desire

Fear/Emotions: Fear is a powerful emotional response that often stems from a perceived threat or danger. It can manifest in various forms, such as fear of failure, fear of rejection, or fear of physical harm. In decision-making, fear can act as a motivator to avoid negative outcomes or harmful consequences. For example, people might choose not to take risks or make certain decisions because they fear the potential negative consequences.

Desire/Intellect: Desire, on the other hand, is the craving or longing for something positive or pleasurable. It can include desires for success, happiness, love, or material possessions. Desires often serve as motivators to take actions that lead to positive outcomes. For instance, the desire for financial security can drive someone to save money and invest wisely.
