Hollywood Lost Its Soul When It Got Scared of Sincerity

By Ryan M. Maes Leave a Comment

He-Man from Masters of the Universe raising his sword in a powerful pose, symbolizing masculine strength, courage, and heroism.

The issue is not that movies have humor. The issue is that modern Hollywood often uses humor to avoid weight.

A serious moment starts to breathe, then some character undercuts it with a smirk. A mythic scene begins to rise, then someone drops a dumb little joke. A heroic moment starts to feel sacred, then the movie gets embarrassed by its own sincerity.

That is the disease: irony over awe. Quips over consequence. Levity over legend.

A He-Man movie should feel like mythic fantasy: power, honor, evil, destiny, sacrifice, masculine heroism, strange worlds, high stakes. It should not feel like a committee-written brand product afraid the audience might laugh at it first, so it laughs at itself preemptively.

The '80s had plenty of cheese, but a lot of it had sincerity. Even when it was goofy, it often believed in itself. The hero was heroic. The villain was villainous. The world had a clear tone. The story had stakes. Modern Hollywood often feels like it has contempt for seriousness, contempt for masculinity, contempt for myth, and contempt for the audience's ability to sit inside a heavy scene without needing a joke every thirty seconds.

That is why so many newer movies feel hollow.

They are polished, expensive, and dead. They have budget but no backbone. Spectacle but no soul. Dialogue but no dignity.

Why Did This Happen?

First, movies changed because the business changed.

Hollywood used to make movies. Now it often makes IP products: brands, franchises, sequels, cinematic universes, streaming content, global-market-safe entertainment. That pushes writing toward simple emotions, obvious jokes, low-risk plots, and constant "levity" because sincerity is seen as commercially dangerous.

A serious scene requires trust. A quip requires none.

Second, people changed because attention changed.

Smartphones, social media, short-form video, porn, endless scrolling, constant stimulation—all of it trains people away from presence. Less eye contact. Less patience. Less interior life. Less ability to sit in silence, feel weight, or process depth.

The movie problem is downstream of the people problem.

Modern entertainment often feels soulless because the culture is increasingly:

overstimulated but underdeveloped connected but isolated ironic but empty informed but shallow visible but unseen

That is why older movies often hit harder. Even when imperfect, they had more human gravity. Characters could be earnest. Heroes could be heroic. Pain could sit on screen without being mocked. Beauty could be beautiful without a wink. Evil could be evil without a meta-joke.

Modern Hollywood is terrified of sincerity because sincerity requires belief. And a lot of modern culture has lost belief—in God, in myth, in manhood, in beauty, in duty, in sacrifice, in anything higher than appetite and attention.

The screen lost its soul because the culture lost its center.

✠ P.S. It's easy to complain that Hollywood has forgotten how to portray heroic men. Harder to become one. Inside The Kingdom Council 🏛️, we challenge one another to live the virtues those stories once honored—to shoulder responsibility, defend what is right, and sacrifice for something greater than ourselves. "Beware of the Half-Truth: You May Have Gotten Hold of the Wrong Half"

By Ryan M. Maes Leave a Comment

A Masonic-themed collage filled with intricate symbols, with an all-seeing eye atop a pyramid dominating the center, emanating an aura of mystery and power.

"Wake up, dreamer. You wanted to set things right? Wake up..."

Open your eyes... Look closely... THINK... For in secret places dwell those who would influence us, manipulate us, and control our minds.

Call them what you like: the Shadow Government, the New World Order, the Illuminati, the "Matrix"—it doesn't matter.

Be vigilant—their influence is everywhere, from the micro to the macro.

These "Powers" have infiltrated our governments, economic systems, and legal systems; penetrated our healthcare and food industries; and dominated our news media, social media, and entertainment by extension.

Their influence is pervasive—so stay alert and guard your hearts against their deception!

Learn to think outside the box—

—and escape the false "left/right," "Pepsi/Coke" paradigm.

We must put on the whole armor of God to combat this "strong delusion"—our future depends on it.

George Orwell said, "In an age of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act"—

—and TRUTH is needed now more than ever: the cold, hard, painful truth...

So, do not be deceived: "Red Pill" truth extends beyond women and dating; it's about UNPLUGGING from the spiritual powers of darkness in high places.

We must be bold as lions, for God has not given us a spirit of fear—

—but of POWER and of LOVE and of a SOUND MIND.

It is time to AWAKEN, brothers—time to open the "eyes of our hearts" and see how deep the "rabbit hole" goes, because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life—

—and there are few who find it (Matt. 7:14).

Food for Thought:
  • "We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of." — Edward Bernays
  • "Influence is the modern world's currency, and it is often spent by those we do not see." — Unknown
    • "The greatest weapon in the hands of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed." — Steve Biko
  • "Power is in tearing human minds to pieces and putting them together again in new shapes of your own choosing." — George Orwell
  • "He who controls the past controls the future. He who controls the present controls the past." — George Orwell
  • "The true genius of manipulation lies in making people believe they are free." — Unknown
  • "The most effective way to control people is to give them the illusion of control." — Unknown
  • "To manipulate people is to control them, and to control them is to own them." — Unknown
  • "The true mark of power is not just having the ability to dictate actions but to dictate beliefs." — Unknown
  • "What people believe prevails over the truth." — Sophocles
  • "Perception is reality to the one in the experience." — Unknown
  • "It doesn't matter what is true; it only matters what people believe is true." — Paul Watson
  • "Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities." — Voltaire
  • "The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist." — Charles Baudelaire
  • "The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, pull back the curtains, and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater." — Frank Zappa
  • "The secret of freedom lies in educating people, whereas the secret of tyranny is in keeping them ignorant." — Maximilien Robespierre
  • "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." — Eph. 6:12, KJV
Remember

In the age of information, ignorance is a 👉 CHOICE 👈.

"And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."

— 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 (KJV)

✠ P.S. Unplugging woke you up—but it did not fix you. The anger simmers under the surface, your mind never rests, and nothing feels stable. That is not strength—it is awareness without structure. The Kingdom Council 🏛️ is where men choose restraint over impulse. Because an awakened man without structure does not rise—he spirals.

"Be Sober, Be Vigilant, and Be Ready Always!"

By Ryan M. Maes Leave a Comment

A Bible, bullets, and a rose neatly arranged on a table, bathed in the gentle warmth of flickering candlelight, evoking a sense of solemnity and intrigue.

To thrive in uncertainty, you must be well-prepared. In this volatile world, readiness is your greatest asset. Remember: prior and proper preparation prevents poor performance. Preparedness isn't just wise; it's ESSENTIAL—because our enemy does not rest.

  1. Get a Bible and a copy of the U.S. Constitution, and read them.
  2. Practice living off the grid.
  3. Be comfortable around firearms; gain proficiency shooting and cleaning a gun.
  4. Learn to fish, hunt, and field dress your game.
  5. Learn to grow vegetables.
  6. Acquire rope and knot skills.
  7. Practice firecraft.
  8. Learn basic sanitation and water purification.
  9. Do not eat or use products from any animal that is fed and eats parts of its own dead.
  10. Do not kiss or have intimate relations with anyone you do not know.
  11. Get a good first aid kit and learn to use it.
  12. Learn to hide.
  13. Find five people within 100 miles whom you trust with your life, and stay in contact with them.
  14. Eat less.
  15. Get a bicycle and two sets of spare tires; ride it 10 miles a week.
  16. Consider what you would bring with you if you had to leave your home in 10 minutes and never return.

💡Comment with additional suggestions below.

"Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil."

— Ephesians 5:15-16 (ESV)

✠ P.S. Preparation is not paranoia—it is obedience to reality. Men who drift untrained become liabilities the moment pressure arrives. The Kingdom Council 🏛️—Brotherhood of Kings is where men train readiness as a way of life. Because when uncertainty turns hostile, the unprepared do not rise—they react.

I'll Stay Here As Long As I Live

I’m lost, in all honesty, but I found my true value through this group. I love the people here, the lessons, and the exchange of thoughts. I’ve already introduced this page to many and [am] still promoting it to my friends. God bless the God-Pill!

I Am Enjoying & Finding Value With The God Pill

It’s helping me identify my weaknesses while giving me practical advice on what and how to self-improve. It’s also helping me identify women’s nature. I’ve been able to identify where I went wrong in past relationships while understanding what brought me there to those places and what women’s motives were at those times.

If You Are Looking For A Manly & Godly Brotherhood...

this is the place. No whining here. Together, we learn and warn each other about the current pitfalls facing those of us unashamed of their God-given masculinity. No emojis, no AI sermons, just men learning and communicating overtly and willing to act like men according to biblical standards (1 Cor 16:13 ESV). We love women for who they are, not for what we wished they were.

My Review Of The God Pill:

[The God Pill] is my go-to when discussing relationship dynamics and having them work in tandem with my faith in God. It’s something all Christian men need right now. Thank you for all you do, and I hope it will continue to grow and help us lead in our relationships.

One Thing Is For Sure:

The God Pill is one of the rare places where we guys can share men’s topics that most churches will never touch on. Where can we guys talk about intersexual dynamics, real issues that plague men in our current gynocentric society and sissified churches, where we sing about Jesus being our lover and never about joining the Supreme Commander of the Armies of Heaven for battle? The God Pill is a breath of fresh air, and King David would have certainly joined it, in my opinion!

This Is It!

This our group for ourselves, our friends, and our family. I have gotten so much help from this group. It was my lifeline. Because of that, I’ve invited every single guy I know that needs what we learn here. Ryan has given us the platform, not only to rescue ourselves, but to find GOD, our purpose, and this group can be a mastermind, to help us all level up in every way in our lives. So we may lift others up as we ourselves grow.
